Who We Are

Laima International Training is the brainchild of Najiba Kasraee, who established the company to equip journalists, media personnel and organisations not just with the knowledge and training for new media, but also to refocus on the key principles of journalism, such as verification, storytelling and originality. She built the company with the expertise and facility to provide training and career development in media, audience engagement, business and leadership, as well as training in the cutting edge technologies like AI and recognising fake.

The LIT team is passionate about driving the vision that Najiba inspired. We have worked with leading media companies, universities and businesses across the international markets, delivering training with a multi-national reach, in person and virtually in multiple languages. Our goals for the future include continuing to empower newsrooms with the highest standards of journalism, originality and quality of production, equipping our clients to be innovators and leaders in their field.

Who is Najiba Kasraee?

Najiba is an award-winning journalist, who has worked in the broadcast industry for more than 30 years, with credits in television, radio and online. Najiba is the founder of the BBC Academy International Websites, where she pioneered creation of the first-ever training resources for BBC journalists in over 40 vernacular languages. She identified the key needs at the BBC to train journalists in the languages they reported in. She continued her work delivering transformative journalism training in her position as Director of the Academy at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. While in this role she has created a place for strategic organisation wide training in journalism and media skills via an online Academy, and she has tripled the number of hours spent in face-to-face and live online training across 27 newsrooms.
